Reduction of GHG emission intensity
compared to 2020
For a successful transition to a low carbon economy, global companies are gearing up for carbon neutrality as their key company strategy. As a global leader in wind power tower manufacturing, CS WIND is contributing to the expansion of renewable energy use and engaging in aggressive management to minimize the effects of carbon emissions during overall company activities.
The kick off meeting of carbon neutral(21.04.08)
Since 2020, we have been voluntarily estimating the amount of greenhouse gas emissions for workplace, and performing third-party verification of the greenhouse gas inventory annually. By monitoring the record of monthly energy consumption and renewable energy use, we are managing the amount of greenhouse gas emissions from the entire company. As a result, in 2021, we successfully reduced the total discharge amount by 3% with the use of solar energy power generation at the Vietnamese production site. In the future, we will continue to use our global production sites and facilities to expand solar energy power generation and successfully manage the amount of emissions.

More than 90% of a wind power tower consists of steel plates, and steel manufacturing generates a huge amount of greenhouse gases. CS WIND is evaluating the impact of greenhouse gases generated during the entire manufacturing process (raw material collection, processing, conveyance, etc.). As a result, we will implement an eco-friendly value chain between the supplier and the customer.

To increase the scope of renewable energy use, we installed 7/3 MW solar energy power generation systems on the rooftops of business premises in Vietnam and Malaysia in 2020. In addition, in 2021, we installed 111 KW solar energy panels on the main office in Seoul and received the first zero energy building certificate (ZEB) for a private company’s non-residential business facility. As a result, we expect to be able to produce 13,500 MWh of electrical power each year while reducing 3,400 tons of CO2 in greenhouse gas, and in the future, In 2023, CS AM completed the installation of 13.25MW solar energy panels and is in the progreess of approval for use in the first half of 2023. In addition, we plan to expand the solar energy to CS TR in the future.
